How the service works
A clear scope for a controlled villa move
Storage can solve a timing problem, but only when access, inventory, protection and redelivery are understood. We discuss what will enter storage, how long it may remain, who needs access and how the items will return to the household. Storage is quoted separately from the physical villa move and is subject to facility terms and item restrictions.
Use storage for a defined reason
Common reasons include delayed key handover, renovation, temporary accommodation, overseas travel and reducing the inventory before a property is ready. Define the expected duration and the event that will trigger redelivery. An open-ended arrangement needs a realistic review point. If only selected belongings require storage, separate them physically and label them before the moving crew begins so they cannot be mixed with direct-delivery items.
Prepare belongings for time, not only transport
Items stored for weeks or months need clean, dry preparation and stable protection. Appliances should be emptied, cleaned and dried. Upholstery and mattresses require suitable breathable protection, and furniture may need to be elevated or arranged to avoid pressure. Food, plants, chemicals, fuels, medicines, cash, jewellery and perishable or restricted goods should not enter ordinary storage. Facility-specific rules always apply.
Build an inventory that supports retrieval
A numbered box list and broad content descriptions help identify belongings without opening every carton. If the customer expects to retrieve items during storage, those needs must be discussed before stacking. Frequent access may require a different arrangement from sealed long-term storage. Personal or confidential information should not appear on visible exterior labels; use a reference system that remains useful without exposing sensitive details.
Understand the storage environment
Ask about facility security, monitoring, fire precautions, pest management, environmental controls, access hours and insurance responsibility. The phrase climate controlled can have different meanings, so customers with sensitive wood, leather, instruments, artwork or electronics should request specific information. No facility can remove all risk; good preparation and an accurate inventory remain important parts of the decision.
Plan redelivery before the boxes disappear into storage
Record the destination, expected notice period and contact person for release. The new villa should be ready for the volume returning from storage, with room labels and clear access. When redelivery is staged, identify which furniture and cartons should arrive first. Storage charges, retrieval labor and final transport should be understood separately so the household is not surprised when it is ready to receive its belongings.
